Private Art Lessons with a Veteran Art Educator

I’m a National Board Certified art teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching K–12 students, including AP 2D Design. My work has been exhibited in galleries, featured in national media, and published in children’s books. I bring both classroom expertise and real-world art practice to every lesson, helping students grow their skills and discover their own creative voice.

Media, Techniques & Creative Goals
Lessons are shaped around your interests and goals. Some students want to try new media like acrylic, watercolor, graphite, or clay. Others want to explore different styles — from realistic portrait drawing to bold, graphic illustration, pop-surreal characters, or expressive, colorful painting. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your work further, I’ll help you build a strong foundation and develop your artistic direction.

I offer guidance in:

• Sculpture (clay, hand-building)
• Digital media
• Portfolio development & critique

All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Format & Pricing
Lessons take place in the comfort of your home. All materials are included unless we decide otherwise.

• $100 for a 1-hour lesson 
• $70 for a 40-minute lesson

I’m based near Columbia, Maryland, and typically travel within the local area.
